Pretty cool article.  Touches upon the potentially positive effects of technology in education (i.e. increasingly students' cognitive skills).  Also mentions the potential for internet and mobile technologies to become addictive for users.  The most useful portion to our research is found in the article's mention of the power these technologies have to distract their users.  Inability to filter out unimportant data, decreased attention span, and anti-social behaviors seem to emerge from excessive use of these technologies.

Here is another cool article and excerpt from an interview about the implications of living in an "always on" society.  I just bought the book that the article mentions.  It looks like the content of it might be helpful to our project.

Can Smartphones Make Kids Smarter?

This should work well. I will speak to you guys tonight to get a better idea on what we are looking for.
